Another Grot Tank

You may remember Mike did a Grot tank model after being inspired by Grot tanks on Jeff Hall's blog The Adept's Forge

You can see Mike's Grot tank here.

I had an extra tank looking chassis from a Micro Art Studio Iron Brotherhood model, and I decided to make a Grot tank with it.

I added a few bits, a Goblin head and a Tamiya German helmet. The hatch is a Goblin fantasy shield.

Painted dark panzer yellow with lots of washes, rust and chipped metal.

An easy and fun little model.

How did you make the hinge on the hatch?

  3. woroxon, go for it, it's not tough to build at all, you can do a better one.

Dave, thanks you are my hero.

Esty, thanks, the hinge is plastic sprue, scored 3 times by twisting between the jaws of some plastic clippers, the rounded nubs on the ends are the ends of smaller sprue that was filed round and sliced off with a hobby knife, and glued on with plastic cement. I filed an edge of the shield flat to glue it to.

  5. Thanks, John!

You were a big help! The hatch I was attaching was a little bigger than this one, so I modified your hinge method slightly. (I'll post pictures later today)
