At Santa Cruz Warhammer we love to give stuff away. Now we want to share the love.

Want some free stuff?

How about a pair of the best miniatures paint brushes in the world, and I will throw in some brush cleaner so they will last forever.

You can have a pair of new Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky Sable hair brushes, #1 and #00, these suckers retail for over 20 bucks each and are widely considered the best in the world. Use these brushes, win the Golden Demon.

and a pot of "The Masters" brush cleaner, use this and your brushes will last forever.

and I will throw in a tub of my Super Secret basing sand ( the best basing sand in the world), use this sand to base your minis, and your wildest dreams will come true.
Now all you have to do to get this free swag is earn it.

For the first time ever, I am going to give something away on our blog, and the winner is going to be the reader who I think deserves it the most.

I am going to start a chain of blogger give aways, make all those bloggers famous, and everyone of them will get something for free.

It all starts here.

Rules.
1. you must have a blog.
2. you must have something worthwhile to offer up to give away for free.
3. if you win, you must hold your own blogsite give away using the same rules to pay it forward.
4. you must contact us with a link to your give away so we can send bloggers to your site.
5. you may only enter once per give away.

To enter.
leave a comment to this post as follows.
1st sentence, why you need the prize.
2nd sentence what you will give away on your blog to pay it forward.

I will choose the winner based on how convincing they are and what they offer to the next winner.

The winner will be announced this friday night 8pm PST before the Barter Bucket post on Saturday.

So, who wants to be a winner?

John

  1. 1.) I have around 6000 points of Ultramarines and 1500ish points of Necrons to paint.
2.) A brand spankin' new Space Marine Land Speeder, MIB. And I'll toss in a sexy picture of my face.

  2. What a great idea, this is epic. Easily the best hobby-related prize pack...in the world!

  3. Heck, I just went ahead and posted a giveaway. Great concept.

    1. I have around 4000 pts of Ultramarines, but my favorite is the first tank I ever built, a Predator.

    2. I'm already doing a giveaway of a ForgeWorld Venerable Dreadnaught. See my blog at http://noobruns.blogspot.com
    for a shot at winning.

  4. Oops. I forgot why I needed the prize. I need it because my brushes are crap and wearing out, plus I have about 2000 pts to paint.

  5. Hello Santa Cruz!

I would make use of these brushes and brush cleaner by delivering yet more painting tutorials to fellow hobbyists at www.mywargame.com

If I win this prize, I will GIVE AWAY the model created by my upcoming Primarch-building tutorial. There is a poll on the site to determine which Primarch is going to be made. Currently Alpharius is in the lead.

  6. 1. New brushes are exactly what I need to justify starting up a Flesh Tearers force.

    2. I have still on the sprue, an Eldar War Walker squadron (3 walkers!). I took 1 base decoration off for a base, but never started that Eldar force!

Might be nice to send it to a good home. I love this contest idea by the way. The community plays it right and we'll be Paying it Forward forever!

  7. 1. I paint a number of items for other players at the FLGS and am currently starting a 13th Company Space wolves army with thunderwolves as giant werewolves - sounds kitchy, but I promise it will be awesome. It will be even better with nice clean brushes!

    2. I will pay it forward on my blog http://darkfuturegaming.blogspot.com/ by giving away a fully painted set of the new Honorum Imperium terrain with the same set of rules as this contest!

  8. 1.) I have a W&N Series 7 #1 and it is junk. I searched online for local W&N brush suppliers about a year ago, must have went to 3 or 4 of them, and at the very last local art store they told me they could special order one. I waited almost a month for it to come in, paid near $20 for it, and couldn't wait to get home to try it out...

On the very first use while drawing up paint into the bristles so I could paint with it, the point of the brush started to spread into two separate halves - and the same thing happens every time I use it despite repeated cleanings, limited soaks under running hot water, and applications of brush conditioner. It holds paint beautifully, but the point is absolute garbage on mine.

In short: I'd love to have a quality #1 hand-made W&N brush with a good point and came within inches - here's my shot at redemption.

2.) I'm currently in the process of painting a full single-figure commission free-of-charge for the winner of a Commission Giveaway Contest I ran on my painting site several weeks ago:
    http://tinweasel.blogspot.com/2010/03/and-we-have-winner.html

I'd rather not repeat the same thing so soon, but I WILL run a Commission Giveaway Contest with the prize of a Secret Weapon Miniatures base in the style of the winner's choice prepped, primed, and fully painted by myself for free - it's not a painted figure, but it's the next best thing!

If I might be so bold, I could pass on the brush soap to my winner also, since I've got a good brand I'm already using. Ditto on the top-secret basing material, depending - I'm working my way through a tub of Ol' Tinweasel's XX Backyard Grit and have cornmeal and clay kitty litter for backup and moral support. (If the Santa Cruz Warhammer Top Secret Mixture is such quality, though, I might keep it and pass on a tub of my own vintage stuff - I might be crazy, but I ain't stupid!)

  9. 1) Because I need to get my butt in gear painting more and the proper tools might go a long way towards helping me get better.

    2) I'd pay it forward with something to prepare for the possible upcoming Inquisition/Grey Knight codex. I'll offer up a Grey Knight Starter Kit (assembled but unpainted) with 1 Brother-Captain, 2 GK Termies, and a Justicar with 9 buddies. It doesn't quite make a legit FOC, but it's a start for the baddest force the Inquisition offers.
