John went to the flea market the other day and picked up two pieces of scenery for $1 each. They are pieces destined for a fish tank but work really nicely as pieces on the table top. Mostly for Warhammer Fantasy, but a lot of this stuff will work excellenty with 40K.
Here's the 1st one
Yes, a nice ruin, that will look great in any battle.
Here's a boy to show the size
Here's another one, made for Wood Elves, Lizardmen or Imperial Guard.
With the boy..this is a big piece.
Nice details, and this is how John found it...
For fun I googled fish tank supplies. This was the first link that showed up:
Scroll down and see how many things you can buy that will work nicely. This stuff is a little expensive when new, but maybe in your pet store there is a sale bin. Also, on the link above, if you go to page 2 or 3, it will get a lot cheaper. Anyway, there are lots of these sites and then there is Ebay..

Our club has like 3 tables of "fish tank" terrain and it looks great with a few other bitz and stuff. A great quick way to get some durable terrain.
ReplyDeleteThis is a genius idea. Definitely gonna be trolling for bargain bins in the local pet shop.
ReplyDeleteI had thought of this also but agree that new the stuff is to expensive. The fake plants will often also work.
ReplyDeleteI've got to agree with the rest, what an awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteI never have enough time to paint my armies, much less my scenery. Thanks again mate.
