We are giving away a FREE model!

A lot of you have read this post about my mechanized Rough Rider. Although the project worked out well, the resin cast from Micro Arts had many problems. Our post helped Micro Arts decide to discard this mold and make a new one. I got four more models that all looked much better and they promised to keep perfecting the new mold. Micro Arts is sending me some stuff for free because they feel bad and have good customer service.
So we have decided to give the extra free stuff away FOR FREE. Here is the model:
This is the mechanized Rough Rider I made of it
and the winner can probably do many more things with it, like a Traitor Guard vehicle or a Mechanicum unit.

Simple rules:
1. become a follower
2. leave any comment in this post

Monday night I will blindly pick one commenter, announce it on the blog and send him/her his model. Just for fun.

In the very near future we will give away more stuff in this way. Keep checking out our blog!

John and Mike

  1. Just wanted to say that I love that rough-rider conversion.

The original doesn't look that bad either!

  2. It's nice to see a company listening to their customers like that.

  3. I've had my eye on MicroArt for a while, and never ordered anything from them.

I get nervous dealing with overseas companies. Between long ship times and awkward customer service, many of my dealings have been unsatisfactory.

This is just giving me more of an excuse to order some Ork heads with gas masks :)

  4. Always loved watching you guys paint!

The way the model is made really makes it look and feel futuristic compared to men on horses...

I wonder what GW might come up with...

  5. Pretty cool model. Love the blog, just had never actually clicked the 'follow' button previously. Either way, its a win-win with the quality you all post.

  11. That is some great customer service right there.

That's also a very interesting take on rough riders, and fitting for the 40k universe.

(Not entering the contest, just leaving feedback.)

  15. Well they do look like damn nice models.

  16. I love contests.
While I never bought from them yet, I'm looking carefully as they make better and better things. They have quite high prices but typical for this kind of business. And as usual, customers have to press them for continuous improving quality, otherwise they will be like ForgeWorld was - packing broken stuff without checking (or intentionally). All in all, I'm proud that polish small companies are doing better and better - now, I'm waiting for announced Moscals and Chaos Dwarves from Scibor Miniatures.

  17. That's too bad about that model, liked their other brotherhood models. I use them on the base for my Warhound.
Hopefully the new mold will work out soon.

  23. Everything MAS produces is awesome. Its always nice to see independent reviews of companies which produce things what might be useful to the full time converter/hobby-ist. Keep the conversions coming!

  24. That looks like an awesome mold! I how I get it, I here a servitor! Your Mechanized Rough riders look awesome as well

  28. Something went horribly wrong with my username.... whatever.

Considering micro arts, their models are great. My FLGS even carries them, what is great, but the tracked thingie models that they have all have the same flaw as yours. So I guess I'll have to order them. Good to know that their customer service is as good as this....

You guys rock, keep up the good work!

Uhm, I meant to enter the contest... well, I suck with computers. I'm following you anyway, without following. And I probably get those models faster as well if I order them from MA directly, considering that they don't have to cross the ocean that way. :D

  29. Thanks for the link to microart - not seen them before but definately will order something from them soon...

    All the best

  31. Hi there ,I got two of the new models and they are still not checking there work before sending them out . the two I got have two large mold marks on them which are on the front gaurds .was going to use but if I try to remove will have to some how fill up .was going to get more but when I seen what they sent out change my mind

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'd love to use a tracked servitor like that in a Dark Heresy game!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I also had some problems with the front fender. Out of the four models from the new mold, two of them were perfect and two had fender problems. None of them had the bad tracks from the 1st post. Hey, I am not their salesman. They need to do their work right and quality control is CRUCIAL with resin casters. Hopefully all this will push them to greater quality.
