Here's our 2nd Santa Cruz Warhammer Giveaway! Pig Iron sent us 2 squads of models to give away to you, readers of our blog. In the previous posts you saw what we did with the sculpts from this little company full of modeling talent. With a little TLC, they work great in our Warhammer 40K games and give a whole new dimension to conversion and kitbashing. They could also work in Fantasy, like Empire Flagelants or Skaven Human Slaves (hmm, got to work on that one).
Anyway, here are the two prizes:
and
(although this picture has ten models, the squad for this prize has 5 models, with heads)
Just like last time, there are two rules:
1. be a follower of Santa Cruz Warhammer (if you are not, become one!)
2. leave a comment.
We will randomly pick two commenters and send them their prizes, FREE.
Good Luck and thanks to the folks of Pig Iron. Check out their stuff, it's really fun!

Ya know, those models have some serious potential... Hmmm, I need to visit their webstore I think... ;)
ReplyDeleteIve been meaning to try these models
ReplyDeleteI agree I'm waiting for the plastic Storm Troopers to kit bash and make some awesome Inquisitorial troopers.
ReplyDeletethose militia are so awesome. I want to make a whole guard army out of them with armorcast APC's carrying them around.
ReplyDeleteLove the simplicity of these contests, pure win.
ReplyDeleteThose would serve as a great core for a new IG army
ReplyDeletenice.. i need to have some of those then :)
ReplyDeleteLove the sculpts, especially the heads. It would be interesting to see what could be done with them.
ReplyDeleteI think the Ferals have a ton of potential. I have been hoping to get some to use in my Chaos army!
ReplyDeleteI'm using a selection of the PI Kolony Rebel heads for my Penal Legionnaires. Cadian STs for the bulk of the model, KR heads, and custom built backpacks using Dave Taylor's Blood pact backpack designs. The pi heads fit great on any 28-32mm human bodies out there, from GW's plastics, Copplestone, or any other model you care to try.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... will they work on Space Marine bodies?
ReplyDeleteThose militia would work great as Death Korps of Krieg figures. The Ferals would probably work best as some kind of Chaos, but perhaps an Imperial player could use them as Conscripts or Penal Legion troops with ragged, second-hand or scavenged equipment.
ReplyDeleteThis minis could be great as Inquisition Storm Troopers. Luckily my local gaming store carries them as well.
ReplyDeleteI could see these working.
ReplyDeleteThose Kolony Ferals are pure win for a LatD army!
ReplyDeleteThe heads are smaller than the standard cadian ones, so they make the body seem more in-scale. Love them.
ReplyDeleteI really love the Pig Iron models-it's clear they have put alot of thought into them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for running this contest, guys! Santa Cruze Warhammer FTW!
Pig Iron makes interesting models. The heads fit nicely on IG cadians. Never seen there tanks in person tho
ReplyDeletePig iron models FTW!!! Got to love pig iron.
ReplyDeletethey look like a nices kit whit lots of potetial
ReplyDeleteLove the blog. This and a couple others are the inspirtation I need for painting as often (though still not much) as I do.
ReplyDelete1860 was a good year.
ReplyDeletePig Iron oh yea I am in (since my damn order has been on back order for almost a friggin month)
ReplyDeleteHope I win!
ReplyDeleteitkovian uses these guys all the time and the results are great!
ReplyDeleteThese guys would fit perfectly in a Valhallan Guard force.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the gas-masked heads would look with GW plastic scouts bodies. Maybe this is a chance to check it out :-)
ReplyDeleteThese would be a great intensive to start a guard army.
ReplyDeleteThey have awesome potential for use in many armies.
ReplyDeleteThey really are a great sculpt, and would be an excellent addition to any army...
ReplyDeleteGreat models, great contest. And a great idea with the skaven human slaves.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty cool that you guys give this stuff away! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThey look great! Thanks for showing them to us.
ReplyDeleteI had to become a follower and post this message simply to have my chance at trying Pig Iron products...
ReplyDeleteI already know what any of those squads would become if I was to win one... :D
Really like the detail and originality of the Pig Iron sculpts.
ReplyDeleteI bet they look even better up close! ;)
I have used some of the Pig Iron heads on some Guardsmen and absolutely love the models.
ReplyDeletehmmm... think they could be inquisitorial storm troopers?

ReplyDeleteBe happy, this' not spam ;)
I really like your blog.
Good luck to all....Even if I dont win I plan of purchassing some of their casualtie figures.
ReplyDeleteA few blogs that I've been following have been using Pig Iron models and I love them! I use some of their Heavy Infantry heads for my Vespid conversions in my Tau army. I think they have real potential to be auxiliary units in my Cadre!
ReplyDeleteThrowing my name in the hat!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, this is an interesting way to get followers, give free stuff away, I like it.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the awesome work guys...
If the arms were seperate as well the bodies would make for great Bret peasants- the look filthy and impovershed enough. As the arms aren't seperate I'm thinking traitor guard.
ReplyDeleteOOO I'm thinking that feral ones would be great as Plaguebearers for Nurgle.
ReplyDeleteThese would be a great addition to an IG Army!
ReplyDeleteawesome them models look fab! cheers for the free giveaway
ReplyDeleteEntering the contest woo woo!
ReplyDeletemmmmmm...... traitor guard :)
ReplyDeleteGreat figs, always looking for away to do something different for my IG.
ReplyDeleteCool that you are running all these contests :D Consider me entered!
ReplyDeleteThose Ferals are gonna be perfect for Renegades.
ReplyDeleteI use the Pig Iron heads - I'd love a chance to try my hand at their whole models.
ReplyDeletelook amazing! great work and kudos to the sculptors.
ReplyDeleteRather convenient you guys are having a contest of sorts for following the blog and posting, since I was planning on adding myself as a follower anyways - great blog! I'm only just getting myself set up with a new Blogger account.
ReplyDeleteI had looked into Pig Iron heads previously when I was looking to convert some Renegade Guard as a Lost and the Damned force modeled after Dan Abnett's "The Shriven." Well, then GW dropped the LatD as an "official" army choice and my sculpting proved to be too involved to be easily mass-produced. I wish I'd seen these guys (heads, especially) half a year ago. I'm to understand the sculpts and lack of mold defects are excellent.
I require pig iron minis.
ReplyDeleteI am currently using the Kolony NCO helmets for my Ryza Grenadiers. They look very sweet. I was working on a Cultist Guard project and the new Pig Iron Ferals are perfect! They will save a lot of time. I was using Flaggellent bodies and heads and Cadian arms and boots, and plenty of green stuff. Thank you Pig Iron!
ReplyDeleteThese figures are just gorgeous. Been looking at their site and the quality generally looks good. Shame you can't order off them online though.
ReplyDeleteThose really do look nice.
ReplyDeleteI've bought the heads before but will have to look at the different bodies again. They've got lots of potential.
ReplyDeleteAwesome models!
ReplyDeleteMight as well try for those squads.
ReplyDeleteYou guys run a great blog by the way.
