We are giving away FREE Pig Iron squads!!

Here's our 2nd Santa Cruz Warhammer Giveaway! Pig Iron sent us 2 squads of models to give away to you, readers of our blog. In the previous posts you saw what we did with the sculpts from this little company full of modeling talent. With a little TLC, they work great in our Warhammer 40K games and give a whole new dimension to conversion and kitbashing. They could also work in Fantasy, like Empire Flagelants or Skaven Human Slaves (hmm, got to work on that one).

Anyway, here are the two prizes:
and
(although this picture has ten models, the squad for this prize has 5 models, with heads)

Just like last time, there are two rules:
1. be a follower of Santa Cruz Warhammer (if you are not, become one!)
2. leave a comment.

We will randomly pick two commenters and send them their prizes, FREE.

Good Luck and thanks to the folks of Pig Iron. Check out their stuff, it's really fun!

  4. those militia are so awesome. I want to make a whole guard army out of them with armorcast APC's carrying them around.

  9. I think the Ferals have a ton of potential. I have been hoping to get some to use in my Chaos army!

  10. I'm using a selection of the PI Kolony Rebel heads for my Penal Legionnaires. Cadian STs for the bulk of the model, KR heads, and custom built backpacks using Dave Taylor's Blood pact backpack designs. The pi heads fit great on any 28-32mm human bodies out there, from GW's plastics, Copplestone, or any other model you care to try.

  11. Hmmm... will they work on Space Marine bodies?

  12. Those militia would work great as Death Korps of Krieg figures. The Ferals would probably work best as some kind of Chaos, but perhaps an Imperial player could use them as Conscripts or Penal Legion troops with ragged, second-hand or scavenged equipment.

  13. This minis could be great as Inquisition Storm Troopers. Luckily my local gaming store carries them as well.

  14. Those Kolony Ferals are pure win for a LatD army!

  15. The heads are smaller than the standard cadian ones, so they make the body seem more in-scale. Love them.

  16. I really love the Pig Iron models-it's clear they have put alot of thought into them!

  39. A few blogs that I've been following have been using Pig Iron models and I love them! I use some of their Heavy Infantry heads for my Vespid conversions in my Tau army. I think they have real potential to be auxiliary units in my Cadre!

  40. I have to say, this is an interesting way to get followers, give free stuff away, I like it.

Keep up the awesome work guys...

  41. If the arms were seperate as well the bodies would make for great Bret peasants- the look filthy and impovershed enough. As the arms aren't seperate I'm thinking traitor guard.

    ReplyDelete
  42. OOO I'm thinking that feral ones would be great as Plaguebearers for Nurgle.

    ReplyDelete
  43. These would be a great addition to an IG Army!

  50. Rather convenient you guys are having a contest of sorts for following the blog and posting, since I was planning on adding myself as a follower anyways - great blog! I'm only just getting myself set up with a new Blogger account.

I had looked into Pig Iron heads previously when I was looking to convert some Renegade Guard as a Lost and the Damned force modeled after Dan Abnett's "The Shriven." Well, then GW dropped the LatD as an "official" army choice and my sculpting proved to be too involved to be easily mass-produced. I wish I'd seen these guys (heads, especially) half a year ago. I'm to understand the sculpts and lack of mold defects are excellent.

  51. I am currently using the Kolony NCO helmets for my Ryza Grenadiers. They look very sweet. I was working on a Cultist Guard project and the new Pig Iron Ferals are perfect! They will save a lot of time. I was using Flaggellent bodies and heads and Cadian arms and boots, and plenty of green stuff. Thank you Pig Iron!
