Hey, time for another Original Santa Cruz Warhammer Give Away! This time we are giving away 2 prizes, two sets of bases from the Australian Company Back 2 Base-ix.
Here is a picture of the two prizes
I darked the shadows a little to show better detail, after all they are made of white resin.
The 40mm bases in both sets are from the Ruins type, the 25 mm are different as mentioned on the picture.
Here are some painted examples of stuff we used. John says: a while back I painted Terminator Librarian, that I remounted on a Back 2 Base-ix 40mm Ruins base.
Mike used some of these bases in a couple older posts. Swamp base:
Urban Rubble
So, here's the deal:
1. become a follower
2. leave a comment (maybe say something the manufacturer can use for further development)
No anonynmous comments!
Remember, Back 2 Base-ix and the other creative and independent companies are giving us this for free, so next time you need some bases, support them and get something great for yourself.
Just to let you know, all the bases Mike used he bought incognito, the base John used was sent to us in the batch we are giving away, but there was an uneven number so we used one to make two even batches. It's important to us: we don't get paid for this and don't secretly keep stuff the companies send us. When we like products we ask them for a Give Away and that is all going to you!
Here is a link to a previous winners blog, where he reviews the bits that he won from our give away.
You could be the next Winner(s)! We will draw two winners in a few days!
John and Mike
Personally, I love back to base-ix. The only constructive comment I could give them is to offer more variety for the 60mm city stuff. I'm currently waiting on some of the 60mm industrial and checkerplate bases for my exodites! :D
ReplyDeleteand hey thanks for the link guys.
Love their bases. Maybe some odds and ends of things to add to their bases to give them even more character (skulls, or small broken walls to add to very large bases).
ReplyDeleteReally, not sure what you add to them because the bases are so great.
I love the way the bases look painted,
ReplyDeletemy comment would be the they should try to make bases fot the Space hulks terminators. that dont need to remove the SH base.
They are very cool bases, even though I have not bought any of these items they are great. The bases look very good. The bases on their site also look great.
ReplyDeleteI am looking @ these bases, and I am quite impressed, I have only used GW Bases before, I have always had to tinker with my own terrain, I have not used many resin pieces before and I love the detail in these.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see some woodland not swamp ones :)
I now "officially" follow this blog! I think both those base-sets would be perfect for the Nurgle army I'm building.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy your posts.
Wow. Nice bases! I've been looking for something to spruce up my Canoness, and maybe Saint Celestine. Maybe those are what the doctor ordered!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I have been on this blog and I am very excited to see many competitions. I will definitely contribute in the future but currently I can only say keep up the good work and maybe make some bigger bases.
ReplyDeleteThe bases look great as usual. I like the bases as they aren't too "busy"
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet! More swag! Will now log over to their site for more bases...
ReplyDeleteGood looking bases, especially ruins ones..
ReplyDeleteI have never used resin bases before, maybe this time..
Thanks guys
Lovely bases! I'd love to experiment and put my Nobz onto those.
ReplyDeleteI love back to base-ix. Lovely bases and one thing I really must commend them on is getting them out to customers. Especially when I consider where they're based in comparison to me!
ReplyDeleteWould really love some for free! Hehe :D
I love these bases, I grabbed some desert 60mm ones for my objective counters. Well made and quick international delivery.
ReplyDeleteThose Back 2 Base-ix bases look great. They definitely add some character to your minis.
ReplyDeleteThese Bases look great! I especially like the industrial bases on their website. I really enjoy your blog fyi... esp the articles about playing with your kids (this is something i do with my son as well)
ReplyDeleteHuzzah, more giveaways! And they look excellent, too!
ReplyDeleteAnother great giveaway. Thanks to B2B for supporting the blogoshpere!
ReplyDeleteAdding this one to the Contest Calendar as well.
Was going to put that they should do some woodland theme bases but after a look through their page i see they already do. I personally like the wooden plank set and may order some of these for my eldar pirates that im building.
ReplyDeleteAs a suggestion why not make alien/beetle carapace bases with Gieger artwork as the theme. Then it would look like the troops were walking through an alien hive....
Keep up the great work
I really like their urban and ruin bases.
ReplyDeleteThe swamp bases are a great idea, but with a 25mm base, there's a lot of "swamp" taking up the prime "model" real estate. Still wouldn't mind winning a set, though. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThese are really great bases guys. I like the level of variety in these bases. I think the problem with resin bases is that you have a limited variety and I hate repeating the same base. But these look sufficiently different so that a simple change in the way the model is facing will make a difference in how it looks. Great job! I really like the ruins bases.
ReplyDeleteReally interested in the ruins bases. I've been toying around with basing some models on marble bases and those look like they would fit the bill.
ReplyDeleteBasing is something I really should spend more time at, with these pieces I definitely would! The ruins in particular would look great with snow too... The swamps would be great for my Skaven..
ReplyDeleteI like the bases. Will like more variety please, especially chaos-related. What about making bases related to Malifaux?
ReplyDeleteI have seen these but couldnt remember who produced them. My son's Dark Eldar forces would look good on them.
ReplyDeleteThanks to both Back2Basix and Santa Cruz for running this give away.
I haven't used pre-made bases before but would love the chance to try. Toss my name in the hat!
ReplyDeletewell nice bases. additionally to these nice resin bases I sometimes would like to have some base-bitz. so that the manufactures also produce some bitz in the base-theme to do some minor changes yourself.
ReplyDeleteHey guys, I really like the stuff you guys make but I would like to see more bases made to replace built up slate as slates pretty hard to come by. (for heroic Space Wolves in snow poses)
ReplyDeleteOr waves crashing upon slate rocks for a Iron Snakes themed army.
and maybe a few varied things like swamps and marshes (especially for fantasy to represent such things as the battle for hel fenn and such)
also fantasy bases for middenheim with chunks of meteor or destroyed cobble stones and timber.
Back 2 Base-ix makes some awesome looking bases. I love some of their industrial bases and the quality looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love me some fancy bases.
ReplyDeleteCool contest. I've used B2B bases as well as iron halo and dragon forge all high end products. A Thanks to B2B for this contest.
ReplyDeleteGreat base site. It would be neat to have twisted, organic bases (daemonic maws, etc.)
ReplyDeleteall my bases are so plain i need these
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to get some of their forest themed bases for my dryads. The base would almost be an extension of the mini.
ReplyDeleteI've never used the bases range, but looking at the minis I have seen on them and people use them I am pretty damn sure I could make good use of a set like that!
ReplyDeleteNice bases. Keeping them clean and generic is very important... I have a couple of packs from 'another manufacturer' that looked very nice in the packet, but left me with so little space to mount a figure that they were almost useless.
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be a complete range for each style - 25mm, 40mm, 60mm and also bike bases for rounds, 20mm, 25mm, 40mm and chariot bases for squares.
I am intrigued by these bases-I've never used any other than standard GW and these look nice!
ReplyDeleteAll I hear is good about the company, wanted to buy some for ages...
ReplyDeleteI've bought a few things from Back2Base-ix before. They're a great company with fantastic service and fast delivery times.
ReplyDeleteTheir product range is good, I'd like to see them make updates a little more often- eg scenic bike bases, more industrial stuff, etc
I love the look of the bases I wish they would do a urban battle field though. That would be pleasent.
ReplyDeleteMaybe add a few more details to the bases though. Shrubs or cracks in the ground.
I hope I win this one! It will add a lot to my new projects.
ReplyDeleteThose bases are great. I really like the detail on the ruins. That is exactly what I am looking for to use on my Imperial Fists!
ReplyDeleteThese are great bases, though I wish the details didn't stand so far off the base. Still great concepts.
ReplyDeletelike the stuff.. hope they got it in bigger bases as well
ReplyDeletethese bases are SWEEET. Only advise I got is tie them in more with the 40k universe by adding some helmets, pipes, orky things and skulls
ReplyDeleteReally like the look of those nice clean lines on them, not like the rubbish rubble on the Cadian snipers kit that thing gives me a head ache just looking at it. It's good they arn't to high up some people stack tthe rubble up and up till its far to high they however are just right. Some little extras like shell casings or pipe work would be characterful.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at back 2 base-ix for use with my eldar (which there is still no sight of... freaking lack of money) do the bases still need the 'resin treatment' or are they already pre washed?
ReplyDeleteI like these bases, they aren't too cluttered. The bases look great as usual.
ReplyDeletenice bases would look good on an imperial guard command squad
